All kinds of communication and sharing with online technologies such as Facebook, twitter, instagram and YouTube are defined as social media or social networks to communicate effectively with each other. In our age, social media is used effectively in every field. In this study, the relationship between social media and Arab Spring was examined. Aim: The aim of this study is to research the effects of social media on the political movements in the Middle East, especially as a means of social communication in North Africa. Method: The literature search technique was used in this study. Qualitative and quantitative data were used together with the mixed method. Scope: In this study, the use of social media as a tool of political communication, what kind of influence on the Arab Spring (especially to the actors organized through the social media in the process of Egyptian revolution), the starting phase of the Arab Spring, the processes, results, social media support to the Arab Spring and how it affects democracy through political communication have been extensively discussed and evaluated. Conclusion: As a result of the evaluation of the research study, it was concluded that social media is used effectively in political movements, political revolutions, Arab Spring and social media are related and social media has an effect on Arab Spring process as a means of political communication.
